John has built a reputation as one of the best all-around entertainers and one of the most sought-after professionals aboard luxury cruise lines today. A fabulous singer, dancer, storyteller, and songwriter, John captures an audience from that crucial first moment and takes them on a wonderful journey through some of the world’s greatest music.

John Bowles learned how to captivate an audience very early having started his career as a child star on Australian television, in a weekly variety show called Young Talent Time. John appeared in this highly successful program for over six years, and was awarded his first gold record at the age of eleven!

As an adult, John became a star of musical theatre across 3 continents with lead roles in some of the greatest musicals. He is best known for his portrayal of “Raoul” – the romantic lead in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s mega-hit musical The Phantom of the Opera – a role he played over 2000 times. Other musical theatre credits include Cats, Hello Dolly, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, and The Peter Allen Songbook.

John has also worked as a television producer and presenter and was awarded the MO Award for “Best Male Cabaret Performer” in Australia. He also just completed a tour in Singapore and Hong Kong having directed his first musical theatre production.

1st Show: Child Star to West End Star
John has a magical voice and as a great storyteller, he takes audiences on a journey of discovery with him. In Child Star to West End Star the guests get John’s very personal and impressive perspective of some of the best musical theatre hits of our time.

2nd Show: Solid Gold Hit Parade
In Solid Gold Hit Parade, John weaves these great songs together in a way that few can do. From Sun Record to the Beatles, from Michael Bublé to John Lennon, he leaves his audiences literally cheering for more.

“No one is quite prepared for the expertise in song-and-dance that erupts from this talented performer” Matt White, Daily Mirror
